This month we are teaming up with Second Chance Mushers, a non-profit kennel operating out of Michigan. Sarah started Second Chance Mushers in 2013, and we are super excited to support this awesome rescue program!
“My name is Sarah and I am the caregiver for the 30 dogs at SCMR. 27 are sanctuary dogs and 3 are currently up for adoption. Over the years, I started taking on the dogs that most rescues dismissed due to behaviors and it simply is they were misunderstood. They join the pack, live life as an indoor pet, but they also enjoy activities such as swimming, hiking, boating, and recreational dog sledding. I work full time as a nurse, but my passion in life are these dogs. My goal someday is to have a larger facility to help those that can’t be helped by other rescues because I believe life is about “Second Chances.” I’ve been given my share of chances, so I believe the dogs should too. Second Chance Mushers Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization that specializes in the rescue of northern breed dogs.” Thank you all for supporting SCMR.
