There are a few things that are very important to us when considering a new home for our dogs:

We look for people who live in a cold, northern environment. These dogs will not be happy in warmer climates such as Florida, Texas, or generally anywhere in the south.
We look for people who lead an active, outdoor-centric lifestyle. Although these dogs are “retiring”, they still have a ton of energy and will require regular exercise. We need to know that you can provide an appropriate amount of excercise for a sled dog, while still bringing them inside to sleep on a nice soft couch at the end of the day.
We strive to pair the right dog with the right family, and will keep these applications on file for years.
These dogs are looking for a commitment for the rest of their lives. We expect all applicants to provide an exceptional end of life for these wonderful athletes, even if life circumstances change.

Why are you interested in a dog from Call of the WYld?

Please describe a typical day in your life from a.m. to p.m. and where a sled dog would fit in to each activity. Where would your sled dog live? Would it have access to open space? Do you have small children, cats or other pets at home?

Have you ever owned a dog? What kind? For how long?

Our dogs are large, vigorous, working animals. Do you have the time, energy and physical strength to exercise the dog? What kind of exercise would the dog get?

Do you live in a climate suitable for a sled dog? What are the average summer/winter temperatures? How much snow do you get?

Are you able to afford veterinary costs for general care and annual shots (approximately $300 per year plus emergency care)?

How do you plan to transport the dog from Jackson, Wyoming?
