About Us:

We are a small dogsled tour company operating out of Teton Village, WY at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as our main operating location. We lease private land adjacent to Grand Teton National Park and provide one-hour long experiences to the public.  Our trail is roughly 4 miles in length and we advertise 40-45 minutes on the trail, weather dependent. We keep our dogs in a separate kennel location at night, about 45 minutes away in Driggs, Idaho.  This tour is designed to get people on a dog sled that might not go if a half or full day is their only option.  Our mission is to educate the public on the history and transformation of our sport along with the different types of dogs used.  We encourage the public to come meet our dogs and utilize social media to help in that mission.  Each month we send our donations from the donation-based Meet & Greet sessions to a different non profit.  We are passionate about preserving traditional working lines.  We are the only touring kennel in the Jackson area that use Greenland Huskies and Seppala Line Siberians.  Because of our mellow trails, we are also able to use racing Alaskan huskies that are past their racing prime, but still enthusiastic about pulling a sled. While our shorter trails are not exactly the true wilderness experience that most half day tours advertise, to many of our guests it is more wilderness than they have ever experienced in their life.  We hope that by providing a safe and fun environment, our guests will go on to explore further into the wild with confidence. And at the very least, walk away with a solid understanding of the sled dog world.  If this company sounds like a good fit for you, we would love to have you apply!

General Employee Notes:

Season: Employees will be expected to be available for work December 1st – April 15th

Day to day operation: Our day starts at our kennel location in Driggs, ID at 6am. Housing on site will be provided at a subsidized rate (see below). From there we load up dogs to transport to Teton Village, WY.  Once at the village, we have 6 time slots of tours (9am, 10, 11, 1pm, 2, 3). From noon-1pm we give our dogs and guides a break, and designate this time for the public to meet our dogs. Handlers and Office Staff will be responsible for interacting with any and all guests during this hour. After the final tour, we load up dogs and head back to our kennel location. Once all dogs are unloaded, we will feed, scoop poop, and check on general dog care. Our days are long (6am-6pm) and Guides and Handlers are expected to work until all dogs are sufficiently cared for each day.

Days off: 2 days off a week are guaranteed, however they are not guaranteed to be off in a row.  Schedule preference will be based on seniority.  Guides may request a limited number of additional days off by communicating with management, and will be granted on a first come first serve basis as long as all duties are covered.  No additional days off will be allowed during holiday periods: from December 16th to January 4th, January 16th-18th, or February 13th-15th.

On Call: Guides and Handlers will all have scheduled nights “on call”, meaning that they are responsible for staying on kennel property for the evening until the next morning.  While all staff on site are expected to help if anything arises in the kennel at night, the on-call person will be in charge of handling any and all events that take place, including but not limited to: loose dogs, quieting dogs down, checking for wildlife around the kennel, etc. Guides and Handlers not living on site will still have on call nights and will have a space provided for them to stay.

Housing:  Employee Housing will be available at a subsidized rate. Housing is dog friendly. Additional pets may be considered – please discuss with management during the interview phase. No smoking will be permitted in any provided housing.  Any potential staff who already has housing in Teton Valley will need to discuss logistics with management during the interview portion of the hiring process.

Pets at work: Working and retired working dogs may be allowed at our Teton Village location provided they get along with other dogs and do not disrupt or take away from any of our staff’s duties. They will be required to stay in a kennel outside or on the drop line.  Dogs will not be permitted to stay in our office unless supervised directly by owner. No off-leash dogs at the village regardless of pet/working status.

Employee Vehicles:  All employees will be expected to drive our dog trucks (flatbed dually pickup with dogboxes), along with snowmobiles and ATVs.  Training will be provided.

Other expectations: No drinking or smoking, nor tobacco of any kind is permitted while on the clock.  Employees are expected to be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds throughout each day and be comfortable handling dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments.  We expect our employees to be kind, to help without being asked, and to perform any tasks needed, even if they are not specific to your job description.
