6 Mile Tour – Grand Targhee Resort – Alta, WY

What’s Included: Plan to arrive 5 minutes early to go over paperwork and a brief safety presentation. Guests are then loaded into a dogsled pulled by a team of Siberian Huskies and driven by one of our experienced guides. We’ll start off by criss-crossing over a few nordic ski trails, leading us to a small forested section. From there we’ll traverse a ridge to give us access to a scenic and private basin at the edge of Grand Targhee Resort. Along the ride there will be photo opportunities with the team. Trail time is approximately 60-65 minutes, depending on weather conditions. At the end of the tour, we will return to the staging area to warm up and meet the entire dog team. We will then part ways to prepare our dogs for the next tour.

Restrictions: The minimum age for this experience is 5 years old. All children 13 or younger must be accompanied by an adult in the same sled. Additionally, we ask that all participants are able to sit upright, stand, and walk unassisted. Please be aware there is significant elevation gain and loss on this trail. Guests may have to enter and exit the sled at points during the tour to assist the musher. We have 1 sled in our inventory that we can send out at any given time slot. Each sled can accommodate up to 2 guests. We can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests per 90 minute time slot.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel for any reason, please let us know at least 7 days prior to your trip date to receive a full refund. Trips cancelled within the 7 day window will result in a full forfeiture. If a cancellation is made within the 7 day window and we are able to re-book the sled(s), we would then issue a refund. 30 day cancellation policy for large and corporate groups. We do not recommend booking a tour on a travel day. We are unable to make exceptions to our policy for delayed or cancelled flights.

Large Groups

We are able to accommodate large groups with advance notice by blocking off multiple back-to-back hour slots. We have 1 sled in our inventory that we can use at any given time slot. Maximum 2 guests per sled, maximum 2 guests per time slot. An 18% auto-gratuity will be applied to all groups of 5 or more. Check out our Teton Village location at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for more information on a larger operation for larger groups.

Daily Meet & Greet

We do not have a daily meet & greet option at our Grand Targhee location. Check out our Teton Village location at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for more information on our daily meet & greet options.

No Snow & Off Season Options

In the event there is not enough snow to form a safe dogsled trail, we will offer an alternative dogsled presentation and husky meet & greet. Each presentation is an hour long and features a history of dog mushing and Jackson Hole. We also include an interactive gear setup, which allows guests to stand on the runners of the sled, and an in depth look at the different dog breeds used in this sport. Each tour ends with a chance to meet and cuddle some of our star employees (a.k.a. our dogs). Contact us for more info on presentations and no-snow pricing.
